Tofo is one of the most consistent places in the world to encounter whale sharks, which feed along this stretch of coast during the warmer months. Ocean safaris depart daily from the beach, weather permitting. Encounters are wild and unpredictable — reputable operators follow a code of conduct that forbids touching, chasing or blocking the animals.
