Maputo in 2 Days
A tight, walkable weekend through the capital's architecture, markets, art and seafood.
Two days is enough to get the measure of Maputo if you plan around the heat and the markets. This route keeps the first day downtown and on foot, then opens out on day two to art, crafts and the beachfront. It works as a standalone city break or as the opening act before heading north.

Day 2
Art, crafts and the seafront
Begin at the National Art Museum for a grounding in Mozambican painting and sculpture, then spend the late morning at FEIMA where sculptors, painters and tailors work in the open — the best place to buy a capulana. Afternoon at the Marginal, ending at Costa do Sol for grilled prawns as the sun goes down. If it is a Saturday, check what is playing at the city's live-music venues before you head back.
Taxi or ride-hailing between stopsAbout 12 km of taxi hops in total.
