Wildlife Watching
Whale sharks, humpback whales, dugongs, dolphins and over 700 recorded bird species.
Some of Mozambique's best wildlife is in the water. Whale sharks gather off Tofo, most often between October and March. Humpback whales pass along the coast on migration, broadly between July and October. The Bazaruto Archipelago holds one of the last viable dugong populations in the western Indian Ocean. Inland, Gorongosa and the Zambezi delta are exceptional for birds.
