Diving
Warm water, healthy reefs and reliable encounters with manta rays, whale sharks and reef sharks.
Mozambique is one of the Indian Ocean's most rewarding dive destinations. Water temperatures generally sit between 24°C and 29°C. The southern sites around Ponta do Ouro are known for sharks and dolphins; Tofo's offshore reefs are famous for manta rays and whale sharks; Bazaruto and the Quirimbas offer coral gardens and drop-offs with far fewer divers in the water. Certification courses are widely available at the main centres.
