Xai-Xai

Praia do Xai-Xai lies about 10 km from the provincial capital, where a reef runs parallel to the shore and creates a natural swimming pool that stays calm even when the ocean is rough. Behind it, casuarina trees and dunes stretch north for kilometres.

The town itself sits on the Limpopo river and serves as the administrative and market centre for Gaza province. It is a practical, unpolished stopover on the EN1 and a good base for reaching the Limpopo valley and the lagoons further north at Chidenguele and Quissico.
