The Chimanimani range offers multi-day traverses; the Lugenda and Zambezi can be paddled with operators; the coast between Inhassoro and Pomene is a classic 4x4 run of sand tracks and tidal crossings. Distances are long and infrastructure thin — plan fuel, water and recovery gear, and travel with a local guide where routes are unmarked.
